Recently, I had a chance to talk with Andrei. The experience was too good not to share! Read on to find out why.
Trista: Andrei, according to your website, you have been an international male model for about four years. How did you get into this profession?
Andrei: Well, I always enjoyed staying in shape and maintaining a healthy diet. One time I submitted a snap shot over the internet to an agency in California who expressed a great interest in representing me. They offered to fly me over and scheduled an entire month of photo shoots. There was no reason for me to turn an offer like that down, so in a matter of just a few weeks I was on my way !
Trista: Could you tell us a little bit about yourself?
Andrei: I’m a very laid back person, yet extremely ambitious. I see myself as someone who can adapt to most situations. I enjoy dinning out, going to the beach and just relaxing in front of TV. Unfortunately with my tight schedule I don’t really get time to include any hobbies in my life.
Trista: How does it feel to see your image on so many covers of romance books?
Andrei: It’s great ! It really is a gratifying when people show appreciation for the work you do.
Trista: What has been your best experience or greatest accomplishment as a male model?
Andrei: Attending the 2005 RT convention and winning the Mr. Romance title has to be the best experience yet, for several reasons. It was a blast, and the people in this industry are so loyal to cover models, and they really make you feel appreciated. I had no similar experience before this, in fact I had never been to a convention ! I didn’t know anything about the romance novel industry, so apart from being such a blast it was a totally new experience. I also met some really great people there, and made lots of new friends which is fantastic.
Trista: What has been the most difficult or time consuming experience?
Andrei: With regards to modeling it’s always a little time consuming. There’s a lot of preparation and many times it’s not easy either. So I can’t really point out one experience in particular. Each assignment has its own specific requirements and most times it’s not really easy.
Trista: Do you have any advice for someone who is considering the modeling profession?
Andrei: I would recommend it to anyone who is looking into this kind of modeling. It’s fun, rewarding and exciting. I’m always really excited to see my new covers, each and every one !
Trista: Any thoughts you'd like to leave us with, Andrei?
Andrei: I would like to thank all those people in this industry who have helped, and continue to support me.
